Suggest a vetted action

Use this form to propose a new entry for one of the seven topic catalogs (Water, Air, Fire, Food, Forest, Ocean, Bees). Every suggestion is reviewed by a person before anything goes live.

Read this first
  • All submissions are reviewed manually. A real person reads each one. There is no auto-publish.
  • Most submissions don't make it onto the live site. The editorial bar is "decades of audited operational experience or equivalent" — UN agencies, IFRC, well-known WASH and food-bank federations, peer-reviewed open-access references, large open-data projects. Single-cause crowdfunding pages, new charities without published financials, and personal blogs do not pass that bar.
  • We are not building a moderation team. The review backlog is one part-time person. Be patient. If your suggestion is a good fit, it will land. If it isn't, you usually will not hear back.
  • Nothing is collected from this form unless you fill it in. No cookies, no analytics on this page, no draft auto-save. Close the tab and nothing is sent.

The catalogs live in site-<topic>/data/actions.json in the maintainer source tree. The repository is not public; this form (or an email to submissions@actsmall.org) is the path in.

Your submission

These match the seven verbs in actions.json _meta.verbs.

If the action is genuinely worldwide, use global. Region codes match the catalog convention: US, EU, UK, AU, CA, IN, BD, …

0 / 30 minimum

Leave blank if you'd rather stay anonymous. We don't subscribe you to anything, ever.

On submit we build a small JSON payload and either (a) POST it same-origin to a maintainer-only review endpoint if the deploy has one configured, or (b) open your mail client with the same payload pre-filled so you can review the wording before sending to submissions@actsmall.org. The form never POSTs to a third-party service; there is no Formspree, Typeform, Google Forms, or analytics on this page.

What happens after you send

  1. A maintainer reads your submission against the editorial bar (linked at the top of this page).
  2. If it fits, the link is added to the relevant site-<topic>/data/actions.json in the source repository, picked up by the daily curator's link-verification pass, and shown on the live map at the next maintainer deploy.
  3. If it doesn't fit, no email is sent. Reviewers prioritise editorial throughput over reply throughput; please don't take silence personally.
  4. Once an entry is live, the daily curator probes its URL once a day. If it ever 404s and can't be repaired conservatively, it's dropped before the next visitor sees it. The full audit is at <topic>.actsmall.org/live/curator.json.
